Low alloy 4140:ASTM A29 (VO1.05) General scope. AISI 4140 low alloy steel containing Chromium and Molybdenum is the most widely used alloy for oil patch applications. Usually supplied in the hardened and tempered condition at 22 HRC max. it also finds favour in many applications requiring higher strength levels up to 150 KSI 0.2% PS. 4140 AISI 4140 SAE 4140 Alloy Steel - SAE AISI 1010 1015 4140/4150 - Widely used general purpose alloys, low in cost. A broad range of strength and toughness is attainable through variations in heat treatment.Used for forgings, tubing and fitting. 4140 is an alloy steel that is supplied in either the annealed or prehardened condition.
4140 HT Turned, Ground & Polished Precision Shafting material is quench & tempered, stress relieved, machine straightened and turned ground & polished.I.T.S. stocks this grade in both metric and standard sizes. Jan 11, 2012 · The material on the drawing calls out for 4140 or equivalent with the min yield and max tension. We're quoting a cheaper alternative for it, being told from the customer that the material part was over engineered. We have found that the part can be made out of 303 cold drawn steel, meeting the material requirements. 4140 High Tensile Steel - Engineering Steels + Alloys4140 is a 1% chromium - molybdenum medium hardenability general purpose high tensile steel - generally supplied hardened and tempered in the tensile range of 850 - 1000 Mpa (condition T).4140 is now available with improved machinability, which greatly increases feeds and/or speeds, while also extending tool life without adversley affecting mechanical properties.
Dec 20, 2019 · 4140 alloy steel can be tempered at 205 to 649°C depending upon the desired hardness level. The hardness of the steel can be increased if it has lower tempering temperature. For example, tensile strength of 225 ksi can be achieved by tempering at 316°C (600°F), and a tensile strength of 130 ksi can be achieved by tempering at 538°C (1000°F). 4140HW Alloy Steel Technical Data4140HW Alloy Steel Technical Data 4140HW meets AISI4140 standards and has improved hardenability and strength in heavier cross-sections. Alloy Description TimkenSteels 4140HW grade is a fine-grained, low-alloy steel that offers optimum heat-treat response in heavier cross-sections. You find 4140HW in a
Sep 07, 2012 · AISI 4140 alloy steel is a chromium-, molybdenum-, and manganese-containing low alloy steel. It has high fatigue strength, abrasion and impact resistance, toughness, and torsional strength. The following datasheet gives an overview of AISI 4140 alloy steel. AISI 4140 Alloy SteelAISI 4140 Alloy Steel AISI 4140 steel stockholders and suppliers, delivering to the whole of the UK. AISI 4140 is a chromium molybdenum alloy steel specification widely used in the oil and gas industry. Similar to grade AISI 4130 but with a slightly higher carbon content. The higher carbon content of AISI 4140 gives greater strength and heat
AISI 4140 is a low steel alloy that consists of manganese, molybdenum and chromium. AISI 4140 equivalent material & EN grades are EN# is 1.7223, EN name is 42CrMo4, DIN is 41CrMo4, BS 970 is 708M40, UNI is 41CrMo4 and JIS is SCM 440.There are very few grades of steel that have the capacity to match the usefulness and the versatility of AISI 4140. Alloy > 4140 Peerless SteelAlloy > 4140. This medium carbon alloy steel grade is widely used for many applications requiring high tensile strength and ductility combined with hardness in the R/C 40 range. The cold finished 4140 alloy steel bars are calcium treated; this addition greatly increases cutting speeds and tool life without sacrificing mechanical properties.
